Run ASP.NET vNext Online

Description

ASP.NET vNext is the next generation of the popular ASP.NET web framework. This new iteration is open source and is currently in development. This major overhaul allows you to use only the pieces of ASP.NET that you need, making the setup much easier on new servers. During the configuration process, you can grab the libraries that are needed for your application.

## Getting started

This image includes the initial setup state and tools for ASP.NET vNext including KVM, KRE and KPM. When configuring the application, include the libraries you need within the container using the `kpm restore` command from the application root directory.

Simple steps to get started:

turbo run microsoft/aspnet-vnext

# To add .NET 4.5 support to the container
    turbo run microsoft/dotnet,microsoft/aspnet-vnext

To use it with example projects, we recommend to use it together with Git:

turbo run git,microsoft/aspnet-vnext

This container provides the initial installed state of ASP.NET vNext. Follow the guide at `https://github.com/aspnet/home` to use it. This is a short summary:

In the container:

# Upgrade the installation
    > kvm upgrade

Now the ASP.NET vNext commands are available. Run a example project:

> git clone https://github.com/aspnet/Home.git
    > cd Home/samples/HelloMvc
    > kpm restore
    > k web

Navigate with your browser to `http://localhost:5001`
